it seems that I was nominated for some awards, maybe there were more of them but I did not catch them, what a pity.

Liebster award from mathsbyagirl, thanks for this again 😉 It seems that I should answer those question too so here you go:

  1. What is your passion? Astronomy
  2. Why did you start blogging? Check this out.
  3. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be? The thought that I want to change something?
  4. Is there a moment in your life you wish you could go back to just to enjoy it again? If so, what moment is it? Sure there is, many. Anytime would be fine if I could live everything to this point again.
  5. Are you planning to publish a book in the future? If so, what would it be about? Nope.
  6. Do you believe in love at first sight? Not so much experience in this though it happens and it probably does not lead to best marriages, who knows, depends.
  7. Is there something you’re afraid of that’s quite unusual? Not anything unusual probably.
  8. What country are you from? Czech Republic
  9. How many languages do you speak? Czech, English
  10. What is one of your most embarrassing moments in life? Those in which I felt embarrassed but they did not need to be embarrassing at all.
  11. Are you happy? Yup 😉

two months back I was nominated by Chape for this type of award and about week back it happened again! Thanks to The Nexus Science for the nomination, I was already nominated once by you and now again which is amazing! Thank you very much again.

Story:

I started more than an year ago which is quite long time blogging when compared to others. Throughout the time I wrote about physics and astronomy but now I also write about chemistry, optics and other interesting stuff. Mostly I stopped writing about the kind of popular science like fundamental forces since I realised that it is actually not so simple as I thought it was. Last december or so I started to write a lot and right now I keep up with one post every other day.

Altair, Award, Dreams!

Hi,
For last (edit: first 😀 ) I decided to create second blog, do not worry it will never ever step into way of this one which is main and means a lot to me.

What is it about? It is about dreams, more accurately, lucid dreams which are dreams I want to learn to dream. Are you confused? Well then you will have to check out the blog and follow it too 😉 !

The posts there will be sometimes frequent sometimes not but I will continue to post every other day here, as I promised.

Today I was doing some work in school with different Wikipedia pages. I picked Altair which is pretty interesting star so I wanted to share with you what I found out.

Altair is 12th brightest star and it is located in constellation of Aquila.

Aquila

The area of constellation of Aquila in the sky.

It is one of the closest balls of plasma around, 16 light years. Its spectral type is A and it is brighter and bigger than Sun. What is als interesting is that it rotates quickly, one turn in 9 hours compared to 25 days for Sun. This is important for its shape since as it rotates the shape of the star changes to ellipsoid or “stepped on” ball. This has very interesting effect, the poles are brighter because of gravity darkening. The surface gravity at poles is greater making them brighter.

I have got award again, and again Versatile award which I had about week back or so.

My favorite colour is green and I think that everybody should have some gadget to measure colors according to RGB so we would not need to argue about it, especially with girls.

Well those were the questions so I will answer them:

1. What do you normally watch on Youtube?

Well I am usually wathing some science videos from channels like VSauce, Veritasium, SciShow, MinutePhysics or I am listening to music: Two Steps From Hell is my favourite band.

2. Doesn’t “expecting the unexpected” make the unexpected expected?

Interesting question! But I think not because there are various things that can happen and if you dont know what will happen you can hardly prepare for everything. You should expect that something really bad happens like insanely bad so when it does not happen which is high probability, you will be happily suprised and when it does happen you partially expected it.

3. What is the funniest book that you have read?

I dont know what is its name but it is drawed like comics and it about bunnies. On every page something awful happens to them, and they usually die bad it is that funny that you have to wait half a minute before you turn another page.

4. Do you think that the universe is infinite or not?

No I dont think that. I like Stephen´s Hawking theory of expanding and collapsing universe.

5. What motivates you to improve yourself?

Usually me because I want to learn stuff while I am young and before I have too much things to do. Or sometimes some friends or mum.

6. When did you last jog or run?

I am usually running every monday because of my after school activity: athletics. I am not really good but I like running.

7. If you could have any animal as a pet, which would you choose?

I would choose probably hamster because you dont need to go out with him and he does not take much time. AND HAMSTERS ARE CUTE!
